The 2019 National COSH conference will be held December 3-5 in Baltimore, MD. COSHCON is a national, bilingual gathering of workers, occupational health and safety experts, unions, activists and academics united in the fight for safer workplaces. New National Health and Safety Appointments

The Department of Labor announced on Monday 12 appointments to the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH). NACOSH advises the U.S. Secretary of Labor on issues related to workplace health and safety, including the implementation and enforcement of regulations under OSHA. Two appointees were selected to represent labor on the Committee: Robyn Robbins, Director of Occupational Safety and Health at the UFCW International Union; and Steven Sallman, Safety and Health Specialist in the USW Safety & Environment Department. Workers’ Memorial Fatalities

FOR 115 WORKERS IN PA, NJ, DE, JUST GOING TO WORK WAS DEADLY On Friday, the Philadelphia Area Project on Occupational Safety and Health (PhilaPOSH) and the Philadelphia AFL-CIO held their 31st Annual Workers’ Memorial Day Program to remember those who were killed by work-related injuries during the past year. Mayor Kenney, Philadelphia City Managing Director Brian Abernathy, and other featured speakers addressed critical worker safety issues, including the opioid crisis and possible spending cuts to federal worker safety agency OSHA.
