PFT pushes for Asbestos Testing in Philly School District

On January 13th, the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers (PFT) announced that they had successfully begun testing for asbestos at Carnell Elementary. This came after scheduled testing was delayed, forcing teachers and students to decide whether to come into school without test results. There have been multiple asbestos exposures in Philadelphia School District schools in the past months. We support the PFT's work to ensure safety in our schools, where an asbestos exposure can threaten students, teachers, and facility workers.
